Following in the footsteps of the critically-acclaimed "CSI: Beethoven", collaborators Marin Alsop and Didi Balle join forces once again to create the highly-anticipated new offering in the suspenseful and entertaining "CSI: Composer"™ series - namely "CSI: Mozart."

This engaging Symphonic Play™  "CSI: Mozart" investigates the 223-year-old mystery surrounding the death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the age of 35. The 85-minute classical music theatre program, artfully blends excerpts from Mozart's symphonies, operas, and concerti with live theatre, musical insight and medical analysis  evaluating theories as to possible causes of death:

Acute Military Fever?
Excessive Bloodletting?
Poison?
Schonlein-Henoch Syndrome?
Bacterial Endocarditis?
Rheumatic Fever?
Kidney Failure?
Or something else?

In the absence of direct evidence "CSI: Mozart" delves into and investigates the testimony of those who knew Mozart personally and claim to know the truth as to the cause of his death (Leopold Mozart, Nannerl Mozart, Antonio Salieri, Lorenzo Da Ponte all weigh in). Personal letters and medical documents offer clues as the probable cause of  death.

The CSI: Mozart Team stars Maestra Marin Alsop and the BSO, joined by renowned musical sleuth William J. Dawson, MD, a retired orthopedic surgeon and emeritus professor of medicine at Northwestern University. In his role as bibliographer for the Performing Arts Medical Association, Dr. Dawson has researched and analyzed hundreds of entries in the association’s database dedicated to theories as to the cause of Mozart’s death.

The cast of professional actors in period costumes portraying Mozart, and assorted key historical figures bring to life and dramatize the circumstances leading to and the speculations following Mozart's  untimely death. This latest symphonic play is a fugue of complication, insinuation and facts that underscored the final year of Mozart's life in 1791.
