DIRECTOR & CAST

“Didi Balle, who co-created the show with BSO music director Marin Alsop, wrote a colorful script that managed to impart a lot of information without ever getting talky, and she directed the action with a fine sense of pacing." _ Baltimore Sun"Balle cast two accomplished, sensitive actors in the key roles: Tony Tsendeas as Freud, and Richard Pilcher as Mahler. The two men conjured up three-dimensional characters in a flash.” _ Baltimore Sun

The roles of Mahler and Freud will be pre-cast, pre-rehearsed and ready-to-go for your program. Professional actors portray Mahler and Freud, and a female singer/actress performs lieder, and narrates revelatory excerpts from letters and diaries. The ready-to-go cast arrives with the sate director on-site.

FIX
Maestra Alsop will conduct the world premiere, serving as the Music Director/Narrator illuminating Mahler’s music. Your Music Director/Conductor’s score contains concise scripted narrative about the music, a role familiar to many of today’s Conductors.

The stage-director arrives with a ready-to-go cast requiring 1-2 rehearsals depending on your orchestra and Music Director’s needs. The stage-director will meet with your Music Director to read-through and review the conductor’s narrative segments and cues.
